Around about how old is a 3 inch bristlenose pleco?

I bought a Bristle nose Pleco last week from an aquarium and was wondering around about how old it is. It's three inches long, I don't know if that helps. I couldn't ask the man in the shop as I wasn't physically there, my mum went and I told her what i wanted over the phone.
