Somebody used my toothbrush when i wasnt looking.?

The brush was wet and had a different smelling toothpaste than the one i use. I think the person who used it had oral herpes. When i saw the toothbrush was wet i rinsed it in cold water while vigorously rubbing the bristles with my thumb. provided that i keep the toothbrush in my bedroom, will it still be safe to use?
